You never take the same picture twice. And the same goes for you don’t photograph the same subjects all the time, and thats what makes sitting behind the camera fun. You get a chance to create your take on a subject from people to boxing gloves, and make it come alive.Between doing portraits here are some recent product tearsheets and stills to along with an article on MMA in New York state. First Rolls

Just starting to get back the fist rolls of film from the Mamiya RZ67. All I can say is I have fallen back in love with film, and medium format. It’s nice to be able to see your images right away on your DSLR, but the excitement and mystery of a roll of film is so much more fun. This doesn’t mean i’m going to put my Canon on the shelf, it just means that I’m going to be picking up more rolls of film in the near future. More pictures below the jump.

New Toy

So I recently made the decision to get back to film, I still have my 35mm Pentax, but the saying is ‘go big or go home’ so picked up a used medium format camera. A Mamiya rz67 pro II to be exact. I’m really not sure what I got myself into, but I’m sure it will be fun experimenting with film again. I’m still going to use the DSLR day to day, but a few minutes a day will be dedicated to the rz67.

Jonathan’s Ristorante

Today was a good day of food, I mean ummm photography. I photographed Tito Onofre at Jonathan’s Ristorante in Huntington for Pulse magazine. The photos came out great, also did some food shots for their new ad. We couldn’t let the food go to waste, so I had the salmon which was fantastic especially with the pickled vegetables, I also had scallops they were so fresh and mouth watering. Then I had the maple-mascarpone cheesecake, which was epic. Yes I ate 2 dishes and then dessert, but the food was that good that I couldn’t stop, highly recommended. Tito will take care of you there.

Here are some outtakes from a set of photos I took with Kerry Kearney for an upcoming piece in Long Island Pulse Magazine. Thanks to Kerry for being a good sport as I ran into everything on stage that day haha, and Eric at Bobbique in Patchogue for letting us use the stage and restaurant for the photos. They came out great, and lookout for the March issue for the full story on Kerry. Check below for the full photo and other outtakes.

Don’t let any one tell you photographing through a reflection is easy, If this picture was left in color you’d see a nice yellow schoolbus in the top left of the image that just wouldn’t get out of the photo.

The Stage at Bobbique is decorated in tons of history.

Saw some neon signs at my local drinking establishment the other night, and couldn’t help breaking out the camera. Love the streaks of color in this photo when they’re abstracted.
